Hello! My name is Leah Peterson and this is the start of my 19th year in teaching! I am originally from Kadoka, SD, and graduated from Black Hills State University with a double major in Elementary/Special Education and a minor in Early Childhood Education. In 2015 I completed my master's degree from the University of Sioux Falls in Technology Education. Upon graduation, I taught Special Education at McCrossan Boys, then transferred to Sioux Falls Washington High School where I taught High School Special Education for two years. I then moved to Stanley County and taught Elementary Special Education for 5 years and 1st grade for 2 years. This year I am starting my 9th year in Timber Lake, teaching Kindergarten for 3 years and this will be my 6th year of Middle School Special Education. I have a son Dan who is a freshman at Northern State University.
